What you're actually renting
Drive-up storage units on a gravel lot, close to home in Butler County. It is not a warehouse and we don't pretend otherwise: you drive up to your door, unlock it, and load.

Questions people actually ask
Straight answers, including the ones that talk you out of it.
Do I need my own lock?
Yes, and that is deliberate — bring any padlock or disc lock. Nobody here keeps a key to your bay.
Is it climate controlled?
No. These are outdoor drive-up bays with roll-up doors. They are right for furniture, tools, equipment, trailers and boats. They are wrong for anything that minds a Kansas July — records, candles, some electronics, anything that can freeze and split.
What can't I put in there?
Anything alive, anything perishable, fuel, fireworks, chemicals, or anything you would not want next to a neighbor’s Christmas decorations. Nobody lives in a bay.
Do I need insurance?
Yes: the rental agreement asks you to insure what you store, because we don't insure it. Many homeowner's and renter's policies already cover stored goods, so a quick call to your agent may be all it takes. What you store is also limited to $5,000 in value unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Can I get in at night?
Yes. The lot is open around the clock, every day. There is no gate and no office to wait on — drive up to your door whenever suits you.
How do I get out of the lease?
Give us 10 days' notice — under Moving out in your account, or over the phone — sweep it out, take your lock. There is no termination fee. The last month isn't prorated, so if you can, time your move-out for the end of a month you've already paid for.
